Natalie de Silva: Senior Associate
Natalie is the newest Senior Associate to join the-learning-crowd. She has worked in education since graduating in 1999 from UCL with a degree in Ancient History. She worked at the Institute of Archaeology for two years as Personal Assistant to the Director, whilst studying for her MA in Classical Civilization at Birkbeck College in the evenings. Following that, Natalie completed a PGCE at the Institute of Education, specialising in History.
Natalie has taught in a variety of primary and secondary schools around London, as well as utilising her Certificate in English Language Teaching in the role of English Lecturer in further education.
One of her most exciting school roles was joining a leadership team drafted in to turn around a failing school in London, with the challenge of moving the academy from Special Measures to Good in just one year.
Her most recent role was as Executive Headteacher of two heavily oversubscribed primary schools that she created in the West London Free School Academy Trust. She led the West London Free School Primary to an Ofsted judgement of Outstanding in 2015, which was her third year with the WLFS Trust.
“The Executive Headteacher has created an ethos where hard work combined with care and compassion are central to the school's work. She is skilled in nurturing individual strengths, providing support when necessary and recognising and celebrating success. Both adults and pupils flourish in everything they do”.
