Dr Sharon Wright has a background in strategy and organisational development and works with senior leaders across the public sector to help them deliver for their communities. She has supported local and central government, housing associations, Multi Academy Trusts and not-for-profit organisations, bringing energy and insight to their discussions on governance and strategy development.
Over the past 20 years she has gained particular expertise in working with schools and colleges to support their capital projects through visioning and briefing and engaging stakeholders in the design process. She is a regular speaker on latest trends in learning environments throughout the UK and internationally and has collaborated on three RIBA Publishing books on schools design co-editing 'Future Schools - Innovative Design for Existing and New Buildings' published in 2015 and 'Urban Schools - designing for high density' which won the AJ100 Collaboration of the Year Award 2020. Her latest book, ‘Community Schools : Designing for sustainability, wellbeing and inclusion’ was authored with Helen Taylor and published in July 2023.
Previously, Sharon worked on education and employment policy in central government for 12 years and was a Fellow in Organisational Development before becoming Managing Director of a not-for-profit company. She has been working as an independent consultant since 2002.
Sharon is a Doctor in Education from King’s College London, a Fellow of the British American Project, a Fellow of the RSA and Deputy Chair of Bees United (The Brentford FC Supporters Trust). Sharon works with a number of highly skilled consultants who bring particular expertise in ICT visioning in schools, supporting bids and setting up of new schools and analysing demand for school places.
